SOAR’s blog is a well of knowledge about our programs, staff and adventurer experiences, and most importantly resources for parents about ADHD and other learning challenges.

National Organizations

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit and/or Hyperactivity Disorder) is one of the largest non-profits that goes to helping kids and adults with AD/HD. CHADD’s mission is to empower, educate and advocate for kids and adults that have or are affected by AD/HD. SOAR generally has a booth at the annual CHADD Conference, and SOAR Director John Willson is a board member of the North Carolina chapter of CHADD, as well as a speaker at the national conference.

The LDA of America is a non-profit organization that helps children and adults with learning disabilities through coordination of experts, counselors, educators and parents. This association brings together information and resources to the people who need them.

online Resources

Jessica McCabe is the host of the YouTube Channel, How to ADHD. Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12, Jessica provides tips, strategies, and insights into ADHD based on her own experience.

LD Online offers information for parents, educators, supporters and adults that are working with learning disabilities.

The National Center for Learning Disabilities provides resources for parents on a variety of different types of learning disabilities including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, executive functioning, and ADD/ADHD.

Nikki Kinzer of Take Control ADHD is an ADHD Coach and host of the Take Control ADHD Podcast. Take Control ADHD is a relate-able resource for adults with ADHD and parents of children with ADHD.

Understood.org is an online resource for parents founded by 15 non profit organizations with one common desire to help parents help their children.
