Waynesville, NC — The Academy at SOAR will expand this upcoming school year to include a Lower School into our experiential learning model. Previously the Academy served all students 7th to 12th grade in one building, however our faculty noticed a need for expansion.
The Lower School will be located in Waynesville, NC in our previous school building. While the Upper School will be relocated to our new building to better accommodate our students and their diverse needs.
“Recognizing that this new group of middle school-age students coming up have been dealt a disadvantage after the fact (Covid), we decided to design a program within our current school program to be tailored to their needs. [The lower school] will focus on the current gaps in their education and social/emotional development to better support them and help them grow in the skills and strategies they need for success,” said Joe Geier, the Academy’s Head of School.
The Academy at SOAR is currently enrolling for both Upper and Lower school programs. School starts in late August and will conclude in the beginning of May. Our outdoor adventure boarding school provides a learning experience unlike no other, offering small class sizes and travel opportunities each year.
