As many of you know the Caribbean Islands have been devastated by this hurricane season. Therefore, we are disappointed to have to inform you of the cancellation of our Caribbean Sailing/SCUBA Adventure. If your camper was looking forward to this course, we encourage you to consider our Belize adventure.
Caribbean Sailing/SCUBA Adventure
Ages 14 to 18, 11 Days
This sailing and diving spectacular begins and ends on St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands with campers flying into Cyril E. King International Airport (STT) and will be greeted by SOAR staff. The course includes a 7-night / 8-day adventure on board an amazing 44-ft catamaran, Each day is filled with diving, fishing, exploring and a variety of shore excursions on a different islands. Three of the days offer SCUBA opportunities at sites including ship wrecks and coral gardens. The course ends with one final night at a beachside hotel before flying out of St. Thomas.
Campers will explore St. Thomas from The Pueblo Market to Frenchtown. The next morning marks the beginning of an unforgettable ocean voyage and all under the able direction of Captain Steve Schlosser. Each day is greeted by a new island and new anchorages including St. John and Great St. James Islands in the USVI and Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands. Each day is filled with diving, fishing, exploring and a variety of shore excursions.
Three of the days offer rendezvous SCUBA opportunities for campers who are PADI Openwater Certified at sites as diverse as the wreck of the Rhone at Salt Island and the coral gardens of The Indians and Bronco Billy’s. Over the course of the week campers will also have the chance to master stand-up paddle boarding and enjoy some of the world’s best star gazing at night. This amazing adventure ends with one final night at a beach side hotel before flying out of St. Thomas.
