Emma grew up bleeding maize and blue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Growing up, she would spend the long summer days building forts, marching through the woods, and riding bikes until the sunset. As a standing rule, inside time was limited to piano practice and meals. This is where her love for the outdoors was born.

Alongside lacrosse and cheerleading, Emma worked as a student paraprofessional within the elementary school, where she began to fall in love with mentoring special population students.

Since being a mother’s helper in middle school, Emma has stayed persistent in the childcare and education fields. She was a nanny in high school and college. During her time at Western Michigan University, she was a teacher at The Looking Glass Childcare Center and worked to become the Lead in the infant room.

Emma is passionate about holistic health, becoming a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher in 2019 through RED Yoga. In addition, she also was trained in the Life Coaching Fundamentals through the CO-Active Training Institute. This opened the door for her to build coaching relationships, emphasizing mind and body connection.

As the world began to shift, Emma gravitated back towards the place where she spent her childhood, the outdoors. After a semester focused on outdoor leadership with Voyager Outward Bound, Emma jumped to work as a field instructor in North Carolina with SOAR.

If she’s not adventuring, you can find Emma with a guitar in hand sitting around the campfire.
