Costa Rica has long been recognized for its incredible natural wonders, including its tropical rainforests and pristine beaches. Campers will get to explore this unspoiled paradise, home to toucans, macaws, iguanas, and a variety of monkey species. Adventure opportunities include surfing in Manuel Antonio, horseback riding and zipline tours through the rainforest canopy on the edge of Volcano Arenal, soaking in Tabacon hot springs, and exploring a 50-ft waterfall in La Fortuna, among others. Campers will experience the color and variety of local markets as they purchase fresh fruits and bakery goods from the locals. Space is limited, so apply early for this experience of a lifetime!
- Note: Specialty courses are open to SOAR alumni and those with the maturity and experience level to be successful on the course. Acceptance is conditional upon the approval of the course director. Most specialty courses are led by one of SOAR’s Directors, including John Willson and Joe Geier.
- Campers must have a valid passport.
