Assistive Technology Part 3

Inspiration SoftwareInspiration® is a software program that offers a tool for developing ideas and organizing thoughts. The program integrates visual mapping and outlining to assist in comprehension of concepts and information. Anyone can use it to brainstorm ideas with graphics, organize papers with graphic outlines, and, there’s even a way to show relationships between ideas, such as “cause and effect”, “comparisons”, and “similarities”. The visuals help a person process these ideas, step by step, resulting in an improved understanding of a concept or an analysis.

Inspiration® is helpful for individuals who prefer visual tools and like to use mind maps to organize information for writing papers and other text-based assignments.

This helpful tool can also be used for learning and studying. It can help clarify thoughts by organizing and grouping what one already knows, or prior knowledge with new information.  Inspiration® software can help with organizing and analyzing information with the use of diagrams and plots to display information which reveals relationships and patterns. It can help to integrate new knowledge by providing a visual representation which provides the strength of multisensory learning. The software can even help individuals to “think critically” by linking verbal and visual information to make connections, understand relationships, and recall related ideas.
