Sadie Clayton joined the SOAR family 10 years ago when she attended our Spring Weekend Adventure back in 2005. She recently sat down with us to reminisce on her experiences and time at SOAR Camp. When asked why she keeps coming back year after year, Sadie said that SOAR is her home away from home and has really helped her over the past 10 years. She feels that SOAR is a place where she truly belongs.

Name: Sadie Clayton
Age: 18
Hobbies: Art, Singing, and Music
Post Graduate Goals: Return to SOAR as a Camp Counselor! Pursue a career in 3D Animation and Design.
Favorite SOAR Camp Course: NC Horseback Riding. Sadie was on an all girls’ team that did so well, they got to have a no counselor talk day! You can’t beat girl time.
Favorite Counselor: She couldn’t pick just one! Luke Thorsen, Andrew Harris, Mak Jones, and Megan Ferguson. These counselors were all fun loving, caring, and easy to talk and connect with.
Advice for Fellow Campers: Be optimistic and open to new ideas. Be willing to try new things, and you will have wonderful new adventures, and SOAR will become your home away from home.
It is always fulfilling to see our campers grow each year, but it is even more rewarding to see how much they have grown after spending multiple years with us! Sadie, we wish you the best of luck in all of your future adventure and are grateful to have you as a part of the SOAR family!
